<div><font size="3"><span style="font-size:12pt;">We would like to invite each MEDIN DAC to participate in the MEDIN Open Meeting on 9<font size="1"><span style="font-size:8pt;"><sup>th</sup></span></font> February 2016 by presenting a poster based on sharing
and safeguarding data in MEDIN. The MEDIN Open Meeting this year is entitled “The Industry Marine Data Revolution” and will consist of a series of talks, a poster session and splinter discussion sessions. The meeting relates to the recently published report

<div><font size="3"><span style="font-size:12pt;">If you are able to accept out invitation, <font size="2"><span style="font-size:11pt;">we envisage that your poster will address</span></font> the ways that DACs are able to address some of the concerns that
industry have regarding sharing data. You could consider including some of the following:</span></font></div>

<font size="3"><span style="font-size:12pt;">
<li>Background to your DAC</li><li>How your DAC deals with confidential data/if your DAC can embargo data </li><li>How data owners can maintain oversight of how their data is used (different licenses available)</li><li>As a DAC, how sharing industry data works in practice for you</li><li>Any examples of your DAC successfully sharing industry data</li><li>Examples of where motivation to share industry data has been high</li></span></font>

<div><font size="3"><span style="font-size:12pt;">While we want to promote making data as open as possible, it would be useful to reassure the commercial sector that the Data Archive Centres are able to respond to the requirements of the data owners.</span></font></div>
