This is more than just a typographic spelling error. There is widespread confusion over the correct spelling for this ship, to the extent that Google offers Gardline Locator as an alternative when Gardline Locater is requested. Problem is that locator is better English than locater. However, when we look at the picture captioned Gardline Locator at http://eastcoasters.fotopic.net/c1527428.html we can clearly see that Lloyds has it right and the caption has it wrong!
I can't see any problem in simply correcting the spelling.
