Dear Platform Group,

I have added the additional website for the vessel Ke Xue Yi Hao from CHINA code 76SC and 76KE and await NOAAs confirmation for the name changes.

Original Requester : Mitch (Donald.Collins@noaa.gov)

Existing Code : 76KE
Name : Ke Xue Yi Hao
Flag : CHINA - CN (ISO Country Code)
Call Sign : BCCU
Title : RV
Platform Class : Research vessel
IMO : 8427034
Current Length : 104
Built : 1980
Notes : Also known as KEXUE #1, Science 1 and Kexue-1
Information Source : http://e-ships.net/index/K4.shtml (URL)
Lloyds URL : http://www.lloydsmiu.com/lmiu/vessels/overview.htm?vesselID=337036

Same Vessels Info
76SC - Ke Xue Yi Hao

General Comments:
Roy Lowry: I have more confidence in 8427034 for three reasons. First it is also the IMO listed in the URL Lesley gave (http://e-ships.net/index/K4.shtml). Secondly, there seems to be an approximate relationship between IMO and date of build and from what I’ve seen IMOs larger than 9,000,000 are associated with ships built in the 1990s. Thirdly, the information on digital.seas seems very sparse, which gives me concern about its authenticity.
(added by: Roy Lowry - 08/01/2010 00:00:00)

Name changed from KEXUE #1 to Ke Xue Yi Hao
(added by: Marilynn Sorensen - 07/01/2010 00:00:00)

Web site has IMO number 9475610 not 8427034 as in Lloyds.

http://www.digital-seas.com/vessel_search/vessel_details/on/bccu_kexueyihao_q2019019.html?tx_fleetmonportal_pi1%5Bposition%5D=1
(added by: Marilynn Sorensen - 07/01/2010 00:00:00)

OCL REQUEST
(added by: Mitch - 21/12/2006 14:39:00)

This suggestion will need confirmation by NOAA.

Kind regards,
The ICES Data Centre

International Council for the Exploration of the Sea
Email: accessions@ices.dk
Web: http://www.ices.dk

Tel: +45 3338 6718 Fax: +45 3393 4215
H.C.
