The Science Community affectionately called the SEDCO BP/471 "JOIDES Resolution" soon after sailing from Pascagoula where the science conversion was done back in 1985. However, the vessel did not officially change her name till 1996. 2. I can confirm that IMO No.742308 is correct 3.
