<br />I'm pretty sure this is the right Abdiel.  Some time during the 80s somebody at BODC got Suzanne to add codes for the complete Royal Navy fleet at the time, probably to support submission of UKHO XBT data to WDC. As you may have noticed, I'm in the process of sorting these entries out.  I can't see why there would be any interest in a WWII minelayer or a WWI destroyer.

<br />Multiple ABDIELs. HMS Abdiel (N21) was an exercise minelayer and mine countermeasures support ship launched in 1967 and broken up in 1988.
<br />
<br />NAA does not have the "N21". Check that this is same vessel.
