General Comments:

The data is from the 1984 MIZEX project, 3 June 22 July 1984. One of the participants of the survey pointed out the picture of the ship on the internet.

See: http://www.polarhav.com , choose "Bilder", select "Kvitbjørn". Picture number 2 is the ship, reg.merke T-103-T.

This is the information I have.

PS: Also the ship Polar Queen that I asked for code for was participating the project MIZEX in 1984.

(Vigdis Rong 16/09/2013 00:00:00)

Vigdis Rong's request on 2013 Sept. 9 for Kvitbjoern code was rejected since documentation received links to the already existing code 58KB.
(Marilynn Sorensen 16/09/2013 00:00:00)

Moved from separate request for a new Kvitbjoern code. Miramar states vessel type as "Cargo ship/sealer". Is this 58AB? http://journals.cambridge.org/action/displayAbstract?fromPage=online&aid=5403060 states "The Sea Ice Group of the Scort Polar Research Institute, University of Cambridge, took part in the international Marginal Ice Zone Experiment 1984 (MIZEX 84) from 12 June to 26 July, operating from icebreaker FS Polarstern and chartered sealing vessel Kvitbjørn in the Greenland Sea."
