<br />The NOAA Ship Researcher was 3175 (WOD 2567) from 1968 until it changed name to NOAA Ship Malcolm Baldridge in 1987. Uncharacteristically(?), NODC created new code 33MW (WOD 2566) for NOAA Ship Malcolm Baldridge. Same ship, same owners (NOAA). So, while NODC differentiates between the two incarnations, ICES has no entry for NOAA Ship Researcher. I'm not sure what the best way to resolve this might be. We have ~125 data collections attributed (at least in part) to 3175 Researcher and ~41 data collections attributed (at least in part) to NOAA Ship Malcolm Baldridge. NOAA Ship Malcolm Baldridge was decommissioned 1996-08-23. Can you simply change the name attributed to 3175 to NOAA Ship Researcher, create a new entry for 33MW NOAA Ship Malcolm Baldridge, and indicate that they are the same vessel? I guess the bottom line is that it is the same ship, same call sign with the same owner/operator, so does the name really matter that much? What do you think? Don
