General Comments:

It has been agreed with Roy Lowry and Greg Reed that this vessel will have one code. No data was ever collected as the HMAS Stella.

I would be happy to have a single code for Warreen. Note - there is no record of data collected by Stella.

Platform Class : 31 Research vessel
Leave off the title HMAS

(Greg Reed 04/01/2014 00:00:00)

I think the easiest thing would be to lose the 'previous_name' entry and set the commissioned date back to 1938 with a note that she was commandeered by the Australian Navy under the name HMAS Stella from 22.10.1942 - 19.12.1945. We also need to consider whether to include the title HMAS, which technically she didn't carry from 1938-1942 and 1945-1952, but on balance I think I would include it.

The alternative would be to give her three ship codes to cover 1938-1942, 1945-1952 and 1952-1966 (plus possibly a 4th as HMAS Stella from 1942-1945) that all map to WOD 689. Whilst this might have pedantic appeal it strikes me as a lot of work/pain for little gain.
