General Comments:

This is not the Newfoundland Lynx with code 18NX. A new entry for 18NX has been created to align with NOAA.

I’m CCing my colleague Gerie-Lynn Lavigne, she is the Canadian focal point for VOS (I’m the Canadian focal point for SOOP).

There are/were indeed more than one ships named Newfoundland Lynx.

(2)Built 2003/2004, reg 2004:
https://www.mun.ca/mha/pviewphoto.php?Record_ID=12809&pagev=1
Interestingly, according to the MUN website and Shipspotting, the ship was built in Denmark 2003, whereas according to Maritime Connector she was built in Poland. But the built year is the same, 2003/2004. This website seems to confirm that she was built in Poland: http://www.navship.pl/en/news/archive-news/202-trawler-rufowy-dla-armatora-kanadyjskiego.html with the hull provided by Denmark (extracted from the Sevryba 5?) then lengthened in Poland.

Mathieu Ouellet contacted: We have received a code request from JCOMMOPs but I believe this already exists at NOAA as code 18NX. Unfortunately there is no information about the vessel call sign on the NOAA list/OCL site.

Do you know if the NOAA code 18NX was a VOS vessel? Do you know of any previous vessels called Newfoundland Lynx that would have been added to the NOAA list?
