Dear Platform Group,

Due to two codes for the same vessel, NOAA and ICES have agreed to deprecate the code 33GM for the vessel GEORGE K. MACKENZIE from UNITED STATES(US). Do not use this code. The links below will lead to the appropriate code to use in future data exchange.
General Comments:

Deleted attributes from 2015 Jan.5 submitted by Roy because of following message from Roy Lowry: "I have just added a set of attributes to ICES code 33GM, but after a little more digging in the WOD database and its mappings to ICES I have discovered that these should have been added to 31JZ (G.K. MCKENZIE: a misspelling, which is why I initially missed it). I'll submit a new set of attributes to 31JZ, but could you please prevent my causing confusion by wiping the new attributes from 33GM."

33GM on SHIPC list since at least 1996. 31JZ is from at least 1991.
There was another MacKenzie https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_MacKenzie_(DD-614) which was commissioned 21 November 1942, decommissioned 4 February 1946 and in January 1947 entered the reserve fleet at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was struck from the Naval Vessel Register on 1 July 1971. http://www.history.navy.mil/research/histories/ship-histories/danfs/m/mackenzie-iii.html
http://www.collectinghistory.net/dd614/navy2.html states "By Directive dated January 1947 the USS MACKENZIE went into mothballs as a member of the U.S. Atlantic Reserve Fleet." There is no indication that this vessel was used for data collection in the reserve fleet period 1947-1971. This is not the vessel for 33GM.

Strongly believe this is an accidental duplicate in ICES/WOD of 31JZ caused by MacKenzie being spelled McKenzie in the original entry. Believe there has only ever been one USS George K. MacKenzie.
