General Comments:

From Annie Duchesne at Spectre Quebec to Mathieu Ouellet: FREDERICK G. CREED has the same call sign since 1993. I don't have more information before 1993.
(Marilynn Sorensen 30/06/2016 00:00:00)

See the attached response; the CG3198 sign has been in effect since 1993 (no info on the 1988-1992 period).

I also did a query in our TESAC/BATHY/TRACKOB databases for any data from a ship with call sign CB* and found only one ship and its data had been uploaded on the GTS by another country than Canada (in other words, it was not a Canadian ship).

We have data from the F.G. Creed going back to 1991 and have been using 18FC since 2001. We have been using the call sign CG3198 since 2003.

I’m not sure we put any real-time data from the Creed on the GTS before 2003. I just spot checked a 1992 F.G. Creed cruise to see if we had received the data in real-time back then to put it on the GTS, and it appears that not.

This code originally had Call sign CB6099 and was changed by Mathieu. CB6099 is now used for a vessel from Chile. From ITU in Wikipedia "Canada uses Chile's CB for its own Canadian Broadcasting Corporation stations. This is through a special agreement with the government of Chile, which is officially assigned the CB prefix." http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:1723225/imo:0/vessel:INTEGRACION.

http://www.meds-sdmm.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/isdm-gdsi/ocean/index-eng.htm This was originally a request from MEDS.
(Marilynn Sorensen 19/02/2014 00:00:00)

It looks like there were two different call signs so two different codes would be OK for the Frederick G Creed. Query to Canada for dates and confirmation of the earlier call sign.
(Marilynn Sorensen 16/02/2014 00:00:00)

NOAA contacted and informed that WOD 10415 should be moved to WOD 7537.
(Marilynn Sorensen 15/02/2014 00:00:00)

This code wss created in 2006 upon our request, but the ship name was entered with initials rather than in full. Probably because the partial name prevented finding the ship code, a new code for the same ship (18FH) was created in 2011. We never used it, and WOD have been using both codes. I believe 18FH should be deleted, and WOD would need to affect cruises previously attributed to WOD Ship code 10415 to WOD Ship code 7537.
(Mathieu Ouellet 13/02/2014 00:00:00)
