The previously accepted call sign and MMSI for L'Astrolabe has
been shown to be the those used from the time of launch to the
completed date. Usually a change in call sign/MMSI dictates a
change in code. However, in this case I propose to change the
code/MMSI to the current call sign. Anyone with an opinion on
this - for or against - should contact <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="mailto:accessions@ices.dk">accessions@ices.dk</a>
immediately and at the latest 9 April.

Notes : The Astrolabe is an icebreaker (Class IB5 of the Polar
Code), built in 2017 as part of a partnership between the French
Southern and Antarctic Territories (TAAF), the French Polar
Institute Paul-Émile Victor (IPEV) and the Ministry of Defense
(National Navy (MN)). The partnership is made through the creation
of a public interest grouping between the TAAF and the MN and an
agreement between the MN and the IPEV.

I am told by Mr Arnaud Rousseeu at Marine Assistance that the call
sign of L'Astrolabe has been changed to FASB, whatever its
mission. FJYC was her call sign until she was delivered at Reunion
Island last September.
<br>
Her MMSI has changed as well. Is it now 227819100.
<br>

There does seem to be evidence for both call signs. However, the
rules for assigning codes is that if there is a new call sign,
then a new code should be assigned. In addition, this code is
already approved by the platform group and is thus on many
official platform lists. ITU has not registered a change and still
has FJYC. <br>
