<div>The observant amongst you will have noticed that the C19 Sea Areas vocabulary doesn’t include bounding box geometries for the Aral and Caspian Seas. This is causing problems for users in Kazakhstan and so I would like to include them. The following are
what was proposed:</div>

<div>Caspian Sea: 47.5, 36.5, 46.4996, 55.0</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Aral Sea: 46.99975, 43.0, 58.0, 62.5 </div>

<div>However, I prefer not to specify bounding box geometries that are unsupported by full polygons in our spatial database as this simply stores up problems for the future when our serving progresses to detailed geometries. Our contact in Kazakhstan didn’t
have a suitable vector data set, nor is one included in our usual coastline source (World Vector Shoreline) so we have taken geometries from the World Data bank II dataset (see attached jpeg).</div>

<div>Also, in the next week or so, I will be running a set of geometries past you for UK local Sea Areas that I would like to tag to the bottom of the existing C19 hierarchy. For example, I would like to add Liverpool Bay and Morecambe Bay as narrow matches
to Irish Sea. Question is whether anybody else on the list would like to do the same for their local area. If so, get in touch with me – probably better off-list (<a href="mailto:rkl@bodc.ac.uk"><font color="#0000FF"><u>rkl@bodc.ac.uk</u></font></a>) to keep
people’s in-boxes uncluttered - to discuss.</div>
