Polly,
Well, the answer is you can for non-negative parameters. You just have to change the formula in the driver file and create Eastings and Northings using a different form of "speed". In fact you can have several of these available simultaneously in the driver file.
The Serplo User Guide (there isn't one for Edserplo yet) specifies on page 17 how to do this.
E.g.
# East1,North1(1,direction1,speed1)
# East2,North2(1,direction2,speed2)
etc.
The fact that East1, North2, etc., don't exist in the parameter dictionary means that a tooltip won't be available but that's all.

Yes I can, but it would be easier to look at it in polar rather than rectangular co-ordinates, to identify any possible gaps in the compass readings. If you know how I can plot in polar co-ordinates in either Excel or Matlab, there wouldn't be any requirement to do it in edserplo.
thanks

Polly,
You should be able to do the latter using the XY scatter plot?

Hi Rashid
I have logged two requests with low priority which may help Polly out in the long term.
pom388821: the creation or and additional linestyle which excludes flagged data but without interpolation
pom388822: assuming that it is limited to speed at the moment, the option to scatter plot any data channel against direction e.g. wave height and direction

hi,
I am trying to look at 2 parameters which plot very closely together - wind gusts of 1 minute and of 3 seconds, using linestyle 4, as there are a lot of nulls ( 9 nulls followed by one recorded value). The interpolation used seems to turn the line colours into a psychedelic jumble, to the extent that I can't tell which line relates to which parameter, according to colour. It's not that convenient to keep flipping between one/all parameters selected.
I want to check that 3 second gust is always greater than or equal to 1 min gust, so tried the xy plot - can you draw a line on this for x = y to check which side the points fall?
Also I am trying to get a wind rose (scatterplot page) to plot a) wave directions and speeds and b) wind directions and speeds and have done the #East,North(1,GDSWZZ01,GTDHZZ01) for the wave data, but I can only get a scatterplot for the wind data; the wave data scatterplot appears blank.
thanks
Polly
