[Edserplo_users] [Bodc_staff] matlab problems, etc.

Apologies to alll concerned. Time was getting short last night and I chanced not doing the usual tests when I updated serplojar.jar.

You are now working with the updated version again and the web service has been swapped by JOSS so the tooltips are also available.

The procedure in cases like this is to revert to the previous jar - which is what happened - which is in ~bodcsoft/oldjar/serplojar.jar. It has to be copied to two locations: one at ~bodcsoft, the other under the relevant M:\sitewide directory.

Dear all matlab users, QXFlist/flook users etc...,

I've been doing some frantic investigations to why Matlab is failing to startup correctly today. The cause appears to be related to code put in place for handling of the GPFS switch over.

Theres not alot we can do about it and its advisable to wait until Steve gets back to fix this problem rather than playing around with his code.

Just for those who are interested, the error is steming from matlab file

addpath.m and more specifically the line of code

uk.ac.bodc.utils.GPFSSwitchPath

This is basically a Java class in serplojar.jar which matlab loads up at startup. This jar file was modified yesterday evening 6.22pm and contains the bug
which we are all seeing 'Error: Bad Encryption Padding!'

Hi all,

Matlab is not working properly; some basic functionality is available but it does not see other functions. POLC is working on it.
