Dear MEDIN DAC Working Group,
I am delighted to let you know that Dan Lear from DASSH has agreed to take up the role of MEDIN DAC Working Group Co-Chair, with immediate effect.
Dan has been a longstanding and active member of the Working Group, so is well known to most of you. Dan brings a wealth of experience to the role and I look forward to working with him in this capacity.
I’d like to thank Jon Parr for his dedicated contribution to the DAC Working Group over the years.
I’m sure you will all support Dan as he takes up this new role, alongside fellow Co-Chair Robin McCandliss.
I look forward to seeing many of you (virtually) at the upcoming MEDIN DAC and Joint Working Group Meetings.
Do get in touch if you have any questions.
Best wishes,
Clare Postlethwaite
MEDIN Co-ordinator

Subject: Co-chair of the MEDIN DAC working group
Dear MEDIN DAC Working Group,
Jon Parr, who has co-chaired the MEDIN DAC Working Group (WG) for over a decade, has decided to step down from the role, so that he can focus on other commitments at the MBA. Jon has provided excellent leadership to the working group, alongside his fellow co-chairs Robin McCandliss and previously Lesley Rickards. Jon has kindly agreed to stay on in the role for a couple of months to provide some continuity/cross over with a new co-chair.
I would therefore like to ask you all to consider this exciting opportunity for you (or a colleague) to become the next co-chair of the MEDIN DAC Working Group.
Further information is provided below but do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions about this opportunity.
I’d like to thank Jon for his very considerable contribution and commitment to MEDIN over the years.
Best wishes,
Clare
About the role
There are two DAC WG co-chairs, one from the MEDIN Core Team and the second from one of the member organisations of the DAC WG.
The DAC WG co-chairs are responsible for:
1. Contributing to the overall management of MEDIN as a member of the MEDIN Executive Team (4 meetings per year).
2. Calling, planning and chairing DAC WG meetings (currently twice per year).
3. Planning the annual operational and development work for the DAC working group.
4. Quarterly reporting to the MEDIN Executive Team on progress towards the annual work plan.
5. Working with other MEDIN working groups on shared initiatives.
The DAC Working Group co-chair does not need to be one of the existing representatives on the group but could be a colleague from one of the DAC WG organisations.
About the process
* If you would like to nominate yourself or a colleague for this role, please contact Clare Postlethwaite by 30th September 2020. If you are nominating someone else, please ensure they are happy to be nominated.
* The MEDIN Executive Team will be responsible for selecting the new co-chair (if there are multiple nominations) and for approving the new co-chair if there is only one nomination.
