Dear MEDIN DAC Working Group,
I have a meeting first thing tomorrow with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Developmnent (OECD) and Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS) to discuss your (the MEDIN DAC) comments on the report stemming from our collaborative project last year "The value of marine data" (see link in email below) . However, I haven't yet received any substantive comments from you, and I don't know whether that is because you don't have any comments, or you didn't have time to comment before the 4th June deadline.
This has been an excellent opportunity for MEDIN and the MEDIN DACs to get better information about the users and uses of the data you hold, using expertise from OECD. Please don't miss out on the chance to feed into the report, spot any inaccuracies, add to the discussion and recommendations etc.
Please can you let me know as a matter of urgency when I can expect your feedback? I will forward any comments submitted today to OECD ahead of my meeting but it would be really useful to know if I can expect anything further.
If you are having difficulty accessing the document on the sharepoint, let me know and I will email you a copy.
As always, let me know fi you have any questions.
Best wishes,
Clare

Subject: OECD report on valuing marine data - comments welcome
Dear MEDIN DAC Working Group,
As mentioned at our recent meeting, the OECD report "Value Chains in Public Marine Data: A UK case study" is now ready for you to review it. I'd be really grateful if you could add your suggestions as track changes to the document on the SharePoint ([https://outlook-1.cdn.office.net/assets/mail/file-icon/png/docx_16x16.png]2021-05-19 OECD Marine data value chains UK case study.docx<https://nercacuk.sharepoint.com/:w:/s/O365gpnocmedindac/EWSVystBkKdGrIWi4KWvuTsB4pZ0nzcocujIMa80dmK3gA?email=robm%40bodc.ac.uk&e=NUrNh9>) by 4th June.
As a reminder, this relates to our collaboration with OECD and GOOS around a survey of marine data users (most of you shared the survey with your users last year). It focuses on better understanding how people are using marine data from the UK's data repositories.
MEDIN, OECD and GOOS are all extremely grateful to the Data Archive Centres that contributed to this work.
I look forward to receiving your suggestions.
Best wishes,
Clare
