[Medin_partners] Invitation to present at the MEDIN Open Meeting 2024

Dear MEDIN Partners,

We would like to invite you to participate in the MEDIN Open Meeting on 24th April 2024 by presenting a 2 minute flash talk based on how your organisation is aligning with the MEDIN vision that UK Marine data are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR). The MEDIN Open Meeting this year is entitled "The next 5 years in marine data and how you can help." and will consist of presentations, networking and flash talks with a Q&A session.

The one-day meeting will take place as a hybrid event at The Crown Estate, London and online using Zoom, and although primarily targeted at a UK audience, will be open to anyone to join.

The aims of the meeting are to:


1.      Launch the new MEDIN Business Plan 2024-2029

2.      Celebrate new marine data management initiatives

3.      Explore new ways for the marine community to collaborate to share marine data

The flash talk session will begin after lunch and each presenter will have 2 minutes to present a single slide. This will be followed by a panel Q&A session involving all presenters from the session. Your slides will be available for download from the MEDIN website. We envisage that some audience members may have little prior knowledge of your organisation or specialism, so please keep that in mind when planning your flash talk.

We do hope you will be able to contribute to the MEDIN Open Meeting. The number of slots available for flash talks are limited, so please let us know as soon as possible, but certainly by 1st March, if you would like to present a flash talk.
