Please find attached

1)      a revised agenda,

2)      a paper detailing what Data Guidelines are under development and at what stages of review they are at;

3)      a paper by Steve outlining an approach to how the MEDIN portal can link to other applications including the MCA survey planning tool - we should discuss this in the light of what implication it may have for the development of standards

4)      a report by James on recommendations for xml schemas for encoding metadata for the Location Metadata WG which has relevance to the MEDIN Discovery Standard due to the reuse of some of the work completed for the MEDIN standard- this is a fairly technical document which will be of interest for the more technically gifted amongst us. James will introduce it at the meeting for the non-technical amongst us.

Please find an attached a draft agenda for the next Standards meeting at Association of Anaesthetists, 21 Portland Place, London, W1B 1PY on 10th Feb. Please confirm your attendance back to me by 1st Feb and any special dietary requirements.

I think this meeting will be shorter than previous meetings but hope to have the Discovery Metadata Items finished before lunch at 12ish. If you wish to add anything to the agenda please let me know.

Thanks to Steve and Roger for agreeing to review a couple of draft MEDIN Data Guidelines. Is there anybody else who can review 1 or 2 in the conservation and physical oceanographic sectors before the meeting???
