All,
For those not already involved, attached are slides that give an overview of the process for the INSPIRE Annex 3 data specifications and a few slides on each group which may be of interest. As well as Sea Regions and Oceanographic Features which Kieran is involved in there are many other Specification Working Groups of relevance: biogeographic regions, habitats and biotopes, species distribution, environmental monitoring facilities (the UK Environmental Observation Framework Data Advisory Group are lined into this), aquaculture facilities. Marine data is considered in almost all groups in one way or another, for example tidal and wave energy is considered in Energy Resources and dumping at sea is consdiered in Utility and Government Services.
Kieran - can you let us know who else is in your group so we can see what links there are to other projects?
Best Wishes
Mark

Subject: INSPIRE Annex II & III Thematic Working Groups
The EC have now constituted Thematic Working Groups (TWGs) for the Annex II and III themes but with some TWGs covering more than one theme - see attached slide. The timescales and processes for deciding on these Data Specifications are in the second slide.
There are still vacancies in TWGs for : Human Health and Safety, Agriculture and Aquaculture facilities
Area Management /restriction/regulation zones and reporting units, Energy resources
The full set of slides explaining the current status and workplans together with the current ideas of scope for each TWG are also attached. These were given at Krakow but may need explanation from someone who attended that session - any offers? Some TWGs' members are listed; others will presumably emerge soon.
The minutes from the INSPIRE AWG meeting yesterday will be out soon - main topics of discussion were : an INSPIRE related event for later in the year (but don't miss the relevant papers at the AGI conference in September); the apparent confusion between Linked Data on data.gov.uk and INSPIRE compliance; and a presentation on the Open Source 'stack' of software being produced by Ordnance Survey for use by data providers/publishers.
If you have any questions let me know - we will do our best to answer.
Regards
Robin
