Hi John,
The CF Standard Names are served both through the MMI ORR and the NERC VS, so they are covered. Nothing else you were thinking of was there?
Cheers, Roy.

Hi Roy.
Are you including CF metadata as well? I know you're aware of it.
Cheers.

Thanks Yassine,
I was avoiding GCMD because of past injuries suffered at the hands of their governance practices, but I guess I should have a look to see if these have improved and what they now offer.
The USGS examples are obviously have a geological bias, but presumably the coastal element brings them into scope for the ICAN Use Case. Could ICAN people have a look and (to save us time and effort) let me know of anything out of scope. If we hear nothing, we'll include them.
Cheers, Roy.

Hi Roy,
Thanks for reviewing D4.1 again. I will update the report according to your suggestions.
Regarding you previous email on D3-3, I am aware of the following few more vocabularies, but am not sure how relevant they are to NETMAR:
* The NASA GCMD vocab
* The USGS Field Data Catalog
* The USGS Coastal and Marine Geology InfoBank
* The USGS Marine Realms Information Bank
* The USGS Thesaurus and Enterprise Web Document Catalog
Cheers,
Yassine

Dear All,
Our next NETMAR task in BODC is to prepare deliverable 3-3, entitled ‘Review of available ontologies and their interfaces’ for the subject domain scope of the NETMAR Use Cases. Currently, I’m thinking of:
GEMET
NERC Vocabulary Server
MMI ORR resources, including ICAN and COMPASS ontologies
NASA SWEET ontology
INTER-RISK ontology
ICES RECO code lists
However, if anybody has any other suggestions and/or feel any of these resources are out of scope then please let me know in the next week or so.
Cheers, Roy.
