Hi Susanne,

I've got a few UK ship issues for you.

1)   We recently updated ICES74AB (RRS Charles Darwin) which was sold and renamed Ocean Researcher.  Since the new name 'Ocean Researcher' represents a new entity could you please allocate a new code accordingly:

Ocean Researcher, UK research vessel built 1984 as RRS Charles Darwin, sold and renamed Ocean Research 1 July 2006. Active as at Dec 2006, callsign GDLS.


2)  Please can we have ICES codes for the following UK research vessels.  I found these two vessels on the Oceanic database.  I've checked to see if they are on the ICES list that we have but I'm unable to find them.  Incidentally, I think  I'm working from an old version of your ships list.  Would it be possible for you to let me have your latest version of ship codes for all countries?

Ocean Seeker, research vessel built 1970 as Granuaile (Republic of Ireland), renamed Granuaile II (11 Jan 2000).  Re-registered in the UK 15 Aug 2002 and renamed Ocean Seeker 26 May 2000.  Active as at Dec 2006, callsign ZNZK5.

Ocean Endeavour, research vessel built 1986 as Salmaster, renamed Ocean Endeavour 10 Apr 2001.  Active as at Dec 2006, callsign GAAL
