Hello again Mitch & co.,
We have for many years had a UK ship ENDEAVOUR coded 74EN on both our
lists.
At ICES we have ROSCOP information about a UK ENDEAVOUR, which was
operated
by Fisheries Research Services, Marine Laboratory, Aberdeen, Scotland,
UK
in 1999, 2000 & 2002. However, we dont have the data at ICES, and hence
don't know if this is the same ship! But as we all might know, there
have
been many (9 or 10) ENDEAVOUR ships incl. the very famous one!
In April 2003 there was a new UK ship CEFAS ENDEAVOUR, call sign VQHF3,
and
we agreed on 7 April 2003 that the new code should become 74E9.
ROSCOP information at ICES:
74 Endeavour 11 Nov to 22 Nov 1999
74 Endeavour 06 Nov to 15 Nov 2000
74 Endeavour 18 Feb to 28 Feb 2002
74 Cefas Endeavour 06 Aug to 05 Sep 2003 Call sign: (VQHF3)
74 Cefas Endeavour 11 Feb to 23 Feb 2004 Call sign: (VQHF3)
74 Cefas Endeavour 09 Aug to 04 Sep 2004 Call sign: (VQHF3)
74 Cefas Endeavour 09 Aug to 26 Sep 2005 Call sign: (VQHF3)
>From Ship code list at ICES:
74EN ENDEAVOUR
74E9 CEFAS ENDEAVOUR Call sign: VQHF3
These 2 codes should remain as they are, but the EREBUS should be
recoded
from 74E4 to 740Q.
Please let me know if this can be agreed to, and also if I have created
more problems now!
All the best,
Susanne
