Dear Platform group,

>From the explanations in Anne's list of German Walther Herwigs, I have come to the conclusion that there will always be confusion with the old codes.

Therefore, 06WH and 06HW will be designated "multiple hulls".

The following are suggested:

06W1:	Walther Herwig I

<name>Walther Herwig I </name> <title>FFS</title><callsign>DBFR</callsign><class>research vessel</class> <commissioned>1963-10-28</commissioned> <decommissioned>1972-10-16</decommissioned> <notes>Used by Federal Research Centre for Fisheries. Renamed Anton Dohrn II in 1972. From Lloyds: IMO 5429469 - Became UK Lancella/Falklands Right/Brucella.</notes>

06W2:	Walther Herwig II

<name>Walther Herwig II</name> <title>FFS</title><callsign>DBFP</callsign><class>research vessel</class> <commissioned>1972-10-30</commissioned> <decommissioned>1994-01-07</decommissioned> <notes>Used by Federal Research Centre for Fisheries. From Lloyds: IMO 7211438 - Became Norwegian in 1997.
</notes>

06NI:	Walther Herwig III

<name>Walther Herwig III</name><title>FFS</title><callsign>DBFR</callsign><class>research vessel</class><commissioned>1993</commissioned><notes>Title FFS. Research vessel used by Federal Research Centre for Fisheries. Built 1993, active as at Aug 2007. Length 64.5m. Owned by the Federal Ministry for Consumer Protection, Food and Agriculture. Operated by the Federal Agency of Agriculture and Food (BLE), Hamburg. From Lloyds: IMO 9048392 .</notes>

Best wishes,
Marilynn
