Hi Shavkat/Jan,

I am unclear what action is proposed here. The practice we've been starting to follow is to assign a new code when this happens with metadata indicating when the change took place.  Otherwise, the name changes everywhere the code has been used, which may not be what is wanted!

Hi Roy,

Since I've started working with ship codes recently I cannot really
answer to your question right now. I'll have to talk to Marilynn to find
out what should be done if these kind of cases happen, but she is off
until Thursday.

Some additional information.  Length is 27m. Ship is reported by her builders (Macduff Ship Designs) as ' capable of single and twin rig Demersal Trawling, Pelagic Trawling, Scallop Dredging, Camera Work, Sampling and general research work'.
