[Platforms] UNITED KINGDOM - Aspire

Hi Marilynn,
The quoted build date for Aspire (BF 234) of 1961 was taken from ‘Fishing Vessels of Britain and Ireland 2008’ (published by Fishing News), which has proved pretty reliable in the past and I would trust it more than a trawler photo web site.
There are two other Aspires listed in the reference book (pennants B 903 – the one you found on the Web - and LK 239) working out of Belfast and Lerwick.
I’m not sure OCL came into contact with their ‘Aspire’, but would not assume without explicit confirmation from Don that it is the same ship. The sort of cruises done by BF 234 where scallop and herring larvae stock surveys with no physical or chemical oceanographic data.
Cheers, Roy.

General Comments:
Is this the Aspire on NODC's list? 74KN without a call sign.
Aspire is most likely 74KN since OCL's vessel has title MFV ftp://ftp.nodc.noaa.gov/pub/WOD/CODES/PDF/s_3_shipname.pdf
