Dear Platform Group Members,

For better alignment with the GDPR requirements, and to increase the user security of the platform requests database, ICES has planned to move users authentication out of the database, and to use the Active Directory services instead, as we do with the rest of our databases.
Practically, this would mean that the active users will receive new user information, when the update is published.
This would also affect the way we present the requester in our messages.
Presently, in the Platform messages we display the 'Original Requester: [name] and [e-mail]'. if one of the contacts gets retired, we keep the name of the requester, but change an e-mail to the 'replacement' person, where applicable.
In the new system, we'd be able to point out the 'replacement' user, but not alter the contact information for the old one.
Therefore, we suggest changing the 'Original Requester [name] and [e-mail]' to 'Request contact: [name] and [e-mail]', which would display the 'replacement' contact, where relevant.

Please let us know if this change would be ok with you by replying to this e-mail by the end of October 2022.

Best regards,
Anna,
On behalf of the ICES Data Centre
