Dear Dick and Roy, 

I think that we need to start the consideration of User Requirements for
below action:  

Action (JRA/JRA2): Implementation requires each local system to run an
application for selecting the requested data sets (as indicated in the CDI)
from the local database / files and to convert these selected data sets to
the uniform SeaDataNet exchange formats (ASCII and NetCDF). For this RNODC
will develop a JavaTool, that can be locally installed and used by each data
centre. Deadline February 2007. 

It seems to me that E2E Data Provider (see attached file) can be serve as
such JavaTool . And  to more effective to use the DP and other existing
E2EDM tools for delivery services and other close services of SDN: 

-      Response/Request tools for interactions with needed Data Provides
(TA's); 

-      tools for the actualization of delivery metadata (E2ESearchMD/CDI
types) and metadata harvesting; 

-      preparing the NetCDF/ASCII/XML transport data file at local data
system side 

-      delivery the NetCDF/ASCII transport data file to application/portal
points on request or as it was scheduled (i.e. every day), monitoring remote
data sources and etc.

Dear All,

 

Please find attached a vocabulary developed from one of the EDIOS local
vocabularies to provide terms for describing dataset vertical coverages in
discovery metadata.  I would foresee these terms being used as ISO19115
keywords.  Please let me have any comments on content, terms or definitions.
I would also be interested if anyone knows of other vocabularies out there
fulfilling this function so I can check them out for ease of
interoperability.
