Dear Roy,
Thank you for your ontology. A few comments:
*I think that sea level from satellite data most often refer to open ocean
exclusively. In other words for your mapping I'd suggest to add something like:
(BODC) Sea level ---> (GCMD) EARTH SCIENCE > Oceans > Sea Surface
Topography > Sea Surface Height
*I am not totally sure that BODC PDV is proposing a parameter for ocean
currents in general (velocities etc.). Within Seadatanet there will be some
datasets of ocean currents issued from satellites, so we may add some
vocabulary for such parameters (if, of course, you confirm that they do not
exist yet in BODC PDV)
In that case there would be a new line:
(BODC) "Ocean currents", or something else --> (GCMD) EARTH SCIENCE >
Oceans > Ocean circulation > Ocean currents
What do you think?
*About the mapping with CF Standard Names, the CF vocabulary is regularly
updated. I've submitted some new entries a few month ago, but they are not
on the CF web site yet. They should be in the forthcoming weeks I suppose,
so do not hesitate to contact me about this.
Good luck for the remaining 95% :-)
Best regards,
Olivier.
