Hi Roy,

That all sounds reasonable - you will of course lose some information
between 06/07 and DE but as you say the point is to keep it in-line with
the ISO standard.

Regards,

Neil.

Subject: [Seavox] Replacement of IOC Country codes by ISO

Dear All,

Attached is the mapping Hjalte, Daphne and I produced to allow the
replacement of IOC/ICES country codes by ISO. The exercise threw up a
few issues where the two governances had managed political change in
incompatible ways. The attached word document is my attempt at
pragmatic resolution of these problems so we can finish the mapping and
publish it. Note that this will be a 1-way mapping (IOC/ICES to ISO).

Please let me have any comments by July 1 when I plan to load up the
mapping.

Cheers, Roy.
