[Medin_dacwg] DAC involvement with MEDIN Open meeting 24th April

Dear MEDIN DAC Working Group,

I have had a couple of questions regarding the role of DACs at the MEDIN Open meeting on 24th April so wanted to clarify the situation.


The Open meeting is an opportunity for MEDIN and its Data Archive Centres to network with the wider marine community and explore their marine data needs, as well as illustrating the work that MEDIN and the DACs do.


I am hoping that we can have a DAC poster session during the networking time but am awaiting confirmation that poster boards are available. I'll let you know this as soon as I can. If poster boards are not an option at the venue and you have pop up banners for your DAC, you are most welcome to bring them instead. There will also be an opportunity to introduce your posters/banners before the lunch time networking session, so you can highlight any new developments at your DAC.


I realise that holding the Open Meeting  two days before the DAC meeting is not desirable but unfortunately this was the best option for the venue and peoples' availability. I do hope that despite this, we will be able to have a good DAC presence at the MEDIN Open Meeting.
