[Medin_dacwg] MEDIN response to Geospatial Commission Consultation

Dear MEDIN Exec Team and MEDIN DAC Working Group,

You may have seen the recent announcement of the National Geospatial Strategy call for Evidence. I am planning on submitting a coordinated MEDIN response to the call and have drafted a strawman submission for you to comment on/add to.

The consultation document, associated guidance and the press release can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/government-launch-call-for-evidence-to-be-geospatial-world-leader.

You will see from the consultation literature that there has been a terrestrial focus to the thinking so far. I think it is important to ensure the Geospatial Commission take into account the varied needs and experiences of the marine geospatial community, so I would urge your organisation to also submit a response to the consultation.

Please note that the deadline for submissions is the 24th of October, so in order to allow me time to consolidate responses, please send me your comments on the attached strawman submission by 22nd October at the very latest.
