[Medin_dacwg] provenance and discovery metadata

Hi all,
I'm aware that there's an ongoing discussion amongst the DACs about capturing provenance of datasets, and how they can be linked to Discovery metadata records.
While the MEDIN Standard is restricted in how it handles provenance, in that it is only covered in minor detail as part of Lineage, there is potentially a way of linking the discovery metadata record to provenance metadata held elsewhere e.g. the PROV model.
The Additional Information field in the MEDIN standard can be used to link to external resources that provide further context or information about the dataset - if the DACs were to develop a PROV repository for datasets that was accessible via FAIR principles, the Additional Information field would be a logical place to put the link.
Cheers
Sean
