All,
A few updates.

1) Following comments by BGS, DASSH and CCW the Data Guideline for Archiving Digital Photographs has been published on the website at :
http://www.oceannet.org/marine_data_standards/medin_approved_standards/ Please promte its use.

2) We are reorganising the Standards Web pages, hopefully they will go live next week.

3) NERC Metadata Working Group - many of you may remember that NERC are developing their own discovery metadata profile. I have joined this group who met this week. The finding is that they will be using the MEDIN standard as a basis for the development of their own. The main difference will be the development of some controlled vocabs that are marine specific for MEDIN but they do hope to reuse some of the technology that has been developed for MEDIN. Together with James contribution to the UK Location metadata group I think this looks very favourably for the work which has gone into developing the MEDIN discovery standard and puts us well placed to ensure coordination and influence across these different groups.

4) The next MEDIN Stds meeting will be held in the Association for Anethestists (21 Portland Place, where we had our first meeting) on Feb 10th from 10.30 to 4. Agenda will follow nearer the time.

Best Wishes
Mark
