Hi Marilynn,
I will switch to 09LE. I'll be sorting out the POGO list according to Dick's latest request some time tomorrow or Friday.
Cheers, Roy.

Dear Roy and platform group,
I have contacted Mitch and it is likely that the "POGO" ship Leeuwin with ICES proposed code 09LW is the same as the HMAS Leeuwin with NODC code 09LE created in 2005 (call sign VLSE).
Roy, the POGO list at ICES says "call sign not confirmed". From the Australian website which does not give a call sign, it seems that this vessel was built in 1997 and first commissioned in 2000. It did not replace an older vessel with the same name. Lloyds states that the Leeuwin was built in 2000.
The POGO file gave the following information:
Research vessel (A245) of the Australian Hydrographic Service built 2000, active as at Dec 2006. Callsign not confirmed. 71.2m <title>HMAS</title><class>naval vessel</class><commissioned>2000</commissioned><pennant>A245</pennant><notes>Research vessel A245 of the Australian Hydrographic Service. Length, 71.2m. Active as at Mar 2007.</notes>
I suggest that 09LE is used for the POGO vessel. 09LW was a proposed code and has not been added to the ICES shipcode list.
Kind regards,
Marilynn
