Thank you Friedrich for the extra information for the Planet(s). Two of them are the same vessel with different call signs. Please use the following codes for the Planet(s) since others are already in use:
 
06PL is designated as multiple hulls. 

06PC:

<decommissioned>2004-03-31</decommissioned> <previous call sign> DSCZ</previous call sign> <notes>Length 80.6m. Owned by the German Navy Research Institute (FWG), Kiel. Same ship as 06P2, change of callsign.</notes>

06P2:
<name>Planet</name> <callsign>DSCZ</callsign><platform> research vessel></platform> <commissioned>1967-04-15</commissioned><decommissioned>1981-12-31</decommissioned> <notes>Length 80.6m. Owned by the German Navy Research Institute (FWG), Kiel. Same ship as 06PC, change of callsign.</notes>

06P3: 
<name>Planet</name> <callsign>DRLA</callsign><platform>research vessel</platform> <commissioned>2005-05-31</commissioned> <notes>Built 2004, IMO 9245732, length 73 meters, Owned by the German Navy Research Institute (FWG), Kiel. </notes>

Friedrich also mentioned that there was an earlier Planet (1905-1914). Does anyone need a code for this vessel?

Hi everyone, 
There are a number of German ships called Planet including a new one which no one has requested a code for. In order to avoid confusion later, I am also suggesting a code for the new Planet which according to Lloyds is also a research vessel. If anyone has objections to this please let me know.
