Sometimes a Windows invocation goes wrong but the DOS box recording the interaction disappears so you're only left with a fleeting glance of the error.
You can do something about this. Right-click on the Edserplo icon, select properties and modify the command line to start with
cmd /k m:\ ...
This causes the DOS box to remain after the command has been executed. (Thanks Rashid).
Eventually I'll engineer it so that the command window remains only if there is an error.
[For those who may not know. If you want to record the text of the error cntl-C, cntl-V don't work. You have to mark the text by clicking on the little icon in the window's top left corner and selecting edit.]
For those in BODC using Edserplo for tidal work you need to change the start-in directory to L:\ . For those outside BODC this will be the default so you will probably need to modify this in your copy of the shortcut.
The shortcut on the M: drive has been modified in line with the suggestions above so you can update your invocation by deleting your current icon and dragging the M: icon to your desktop.
