Here Matteo Vinci from OGS.I'm writing you to ask you about some ship codes. Actually I'm  working  with some Italian datasets (2006 XBT VOS of Adricosm-ext project) and the ships that were used to get them hasn't got the ship code in the ICES catalogue.
Taking a look at the web I found a web site of NOAA NODC ( link :
http://www.nodc.noaa.gov/GTSPP/document/codetbls/shipcode/name_1-C.html)
that is the web site of the "Global Temperature-Salinity Profile Program" (the same program of datasets that I'm working with) with tables that has got platform codes for these ships:

- name:VENEZIA, call sign:C6TB5,  platform codes:BHVE ;
- name:LA SUPERBA, call sign:ICGK, platform codes: 48LB;
- name:MARKO POLO, call sign:9AED, platform codes: HRMP;
- name:LIBURNIJA, call sign:9AEC, platform codes: HRLI; Please let me know if this ship codes are good for ICES catalogue so I can use them...
